Solar energy doesn't cost you a thing to use - it even works in Great Britain.  All you need is an effective solar heating system, which can save 50 to 60% of the annual energy requirement for domestic hot water heating.  During summer months, from May until August, the solar energy is sufficient to cover almost all of the domestic hot water requirements of the average home.  In the transitional months, solar energy can best be utilised to preheat the domestic hot water, which can significantly reduce oil or gas consumption.

Up to three quarter tonnes less carbon dioxide is produced per detached house per year making solar panels environmentally friendly.
